Abstract
For the detection of distant metastases, the result of multiorgan scan was compared with the finding of physical examination and laboratory tests in 40 cases of surgically resectable lung cancer.
1) In 37 cases of liver scan, 28 cases with normal L.F.T. revealed normal liver scan.
2) Neither bone pain nor elevated alkaline phosphatase was helpful for the detection of bone metastasis.
3) Bone scan was the most sensitive test for the detection of bone metastasis.
4) Liver scan is indicated only for patient with abnormal L.F.T., but bone scan is indicated for all lung cancer patients.
